We seek veterinary assistants who will support the veterinarian and other hospital staff in caring for patients and the delivery of courteous and professional service to clients.
General functions include receiving patients, preparing patients for examination, treatment and surgery, assisting with the delivery of these services, updating records and delivering accurate, compassionate client communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Help maintain the flow of the Client Service Experience in accordance with position
- Assist clients in and out of the exam room by holding doors, helping with carriers or carrying items/pets as needed
- Support the DVM in the exam room by documenting patient history, generating treatment plans and presenting plans to the client for approval
- Deliver client education regarding preventive care and basic status of hospitalized pets
- Restrain pets during examinations, X-rays, ultrasounds and laboratory procedures
- Bathe and exercise pets
- Provide food and water to pets according to verbal and written instructions
- Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, exam rooms and lobby
- Vacuum, mop, and take out trash
- Launder bedding and towels
- Ensure that exam rooms remain fully stocked

Credentials and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least one year of recent experience working with animals in some capacity preferred
