- We seek Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) will support the veterinarian and other hospital staff in caring for patients and the delivery of courteous and professional service to clients. The RVT candidate should demonstrate a sense of purpose, urgency and commitment to the delivery of accurate veterinary care.
Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Help maintain the flow of the Client Service Experience in accordance with position
- Restrain pets during examinations, X-rays, ultrasounds and laboratory procedures
- Prepare animals for examinations and treatment
- Take vital signs
- Collect biological samples for testing including blood, urine, feces, ear swabs and skin scrapings
- Place I.V. catheters
- Sterilize equipment
- Perform diagnostic imaging such as radiographs and ultrasound as directed by veterinarian
- Schedule appointments and provide client education
- Maintain and update client/patient records
- Prepare pets for hospital discharge
- Conduct post treatment follow-up call as instructed by veterinarian
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as authorized and directed by veterinarians
- Fill prescriptions, calculate drug dosages based on DVM orders, fill prescriptions and administer medication
- Clean and maintain treatment room including equipment, tools and general work area

Credentials & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Current RVT license in the state of California
